“Owner is nice and responds very quickly. Have used this location on 5 occasions ranging from 3 days to 9 and my dogs always come home healthy, well fed, and have never had fleas. Sometimes the cameras to view your pups goes down but for us that’s not a huge issue as we know they are in excellent hands”

“This was our first time boarding our fur babies, I was a little nervous but Ms. Linda is amazing! We have 2 American Bulldogs that get overheated easily and she took the time to move them to a more shaded kennel, wet them down and put fans on them to cool off! You can tell she truly cares about dogs. I will definitely be going back to her for our boarding needs”

Courtney Tavares, from Google Reviews

“I have never boarded my dogs before, because I have one that is high anxiety and an escape artist and I feel bad leaving her Ms. Linda was amazing. She had an answer for ever concern an I was able to monitor them her cameras she has set up. I was able to enjoy the event I was hosting. THANK YOU! from Bonnie and Max”

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I view the live web cams to watch my pup?2023-10-29T18:37:49-06:00

We have live cameras in every suite so you can watch your little one 24/7/365. You’ll be able to watch them from a convenient mobile app on both IOS and Android devices.

My pets like to have toys with them. Can they have their favorite toys while boarding with you?2019-07-03T20:45:42-06:00

Absolutely. Your dog can have their favorite toy in his/her suite during their boarding stay. However, we do not allow toys in the play areas where dogs can sometimes become aggressive if they haven’t learned to share.

Do you have any outdoor areas? Where is my dog going to go to the bathroom when in your care?2023-10-29T19:10:24-06:00

We have multiple outdoor play areas. There are large playgrounds designed specifically to help your dog build their confidence and burn energy! They will be able to use the restroom outside on the grass during playtime or on the concrete outside their suite 24/7. Your dog never needs to feel the need to hold it, or use the restroom in their personal space.

Do you give discounts for multiple pets?2023-10-29T19:06:48-06:00

Yes! To get the latest discounts please refer to our prices or call us anytime!

My dog drinks non-stop when he gets home from Barks & Recreation. Why does s/he come home so thirsty?2023-10-29T19:05:52-06:00

This is not uncommon. What often happens is that dogs spend so much time playing with each other that they sometimes forget to stop and take a drink. For those parents that have children, it is similar to a child forgetting to eat lunch because they are so busy playing with their friends. Please know that we offer multiple sources of water in each play area and every dog has a bowl of fresh water in their suite at all times.

Can my pet catch a disease by being around other pets?2023-10-29T19:03:51-06:00

Your pet can be exposed to diseases regardless of where they are, whether at home, at a dog park, taking a walk in your neighborhood, or staying at our facility. However, the risk of contracting a disease is quite low and virtually eliminated when proper vaccinations are administered (as we require). In addition, we maintain very high sanitation standards and do everything we can to prevent transmittable diseases from occurring at Barks & Recreation Pet Suites.

What is your minimum age when accepting a dog for boarding or daycare?2019-08-16T11:45:23-06:00

As always, our primary concern is the welfare of the dogs in our care. Once they complete their full vaccine requirements (usually after the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks or whenever required by state law), we are happy to welcome them in.

How do I make a reservation?2023-10-29T18:40:30-06:00

You can call us during business hours or request a reservation online through our website. One of our incredible staff will reach out to you to confirm your reservation request. Please make sure to send us photos of your dog’s vaccines by email or text it to our main number.

Can I take a tour?2023-10-29T18:42:18-06:00

You sure can! We’d love to have you stop by and check out our facility. If you could text or call before that would be great. We’ll be happy to show you around and answer your questions!

Are the dogs at Barks & Recreation Pet suties ever left alone?2023-10-29T18:51:51-06:00

The Barks & Recreation Pet Suites staff are on-site 7 am to 7 pm every day of the year. Overnight your pups are kept safe in their secured suites, and there are staff and the owner next door, ready to handle emergencies.

Will my dog be in their suite all day, and what’s playtime like?2023-10-29T18:58:14-06:00

Playtime is included in the cost of daycare and boarding and is typically from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. depending on play-group assignment, weather, and baths. Playtime can be social with other dogs or one-on-one with a human but is up to our professional discretion. Not all dogs are fit for social play. That doesn’t mean they are a “bad dog”, but rather that they will do better getting individual attention due to age, health, behavior, personality, etc. No matter what, your dog will receive the same great level of care and fun as everyone else here.

What times can I drop off and pick up my dog?2023-10-29T18:28:06-06:00

You can drop off anytime during business hours, however, the nightly rate covers dogs boarding from 2pm to 2pm. If you need to drop off before 2pm there is a half day of daycare charge. If you have to pick up your dog after 2pm there is a half day of daycare charge.

In emergencies, the owner may be available for after-hours pickup or drop-off, but this service depends on the owner’s availability. If the owner is available for after-hours pickup or drop off there will be a $40 after-hours fee.

Can I bring my dog’s own bed?2023-10-29T19:00:00-06:00

Absolutely, along with their blankets, toys, or other belongings. We’re happy to have your dog sleep on his or her bed when they’re with us if it makes them feel more comfortable.

Are you able to administer medication if my dog needs it?2023-10-29T19:01:13-06:00

We’re able to provide medication to your pet according to your instructions. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to administer injections.

Can all of my dogs stay together in the same suite?2019-07-04T06:36:34-06:00

Yes, we actually encourage dogs from the same home to stay together. We find that dogs from the same home usually do better when they stay with their siblings or buddies.
